Mysterious X Conference 2026

📅 SEP 24–27, 2026 📍 KANAB, UTAH 🎟 FROM $99 ◈ IN PERSON ONLY

Most UFO conferences keep you in a hotel ballroom. This one puts you in the desert after dark. Mysterious X is a first-year, four-day gathering in Kanab, Utah, built around the idea that the talks are only half of it — the other half happens at night, out at a ranch under some of the darkest skies in the American Southwest.

The programme braids together four threads that usually get separate events: UFO and UAP disclosure, the paranormal, ancient mysteries, and lost treasure. Kanab is a defensible place to do that. The area carries a long record of mass sightings, extensive petroglyph sites, and a generations-long search for Montezuma’s Aztec treasure that has never quite gone away.

WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT

The after-hours schedule is the reason to pay attention. Thursday opens with a mixer and dinner at the Once Upon A Time In America Museum, followed immediately by a live paranormal investigation. Friday and Saturday nights move to Rising Moon Ranch in Mount Carmel for catered dinners followed by guided CE-5 contact protocols — structured group sky watching that treats contact as something to invite rather than wait for.

Sunday is the most ambitious day. Ticket holders on the top tiers spend it at Three Lakes Canyon, where the organisers run ground-penetrating radar at Dillman Cave and put a submersible drone into a flooded skull cave, hunting an artifact recorded on Lost Gold of the Aztecs and never recovered. There is a fire circle and an overnight stay. The organisers are refreshingly blunt about the odds: they promise the search, not the find.

SPEAKERS

Dan Dillman — host and founder, third-generation treasure hunter and author of Montezuma II Decoded. Presenting on links between Aztlan and Atlantis, and leading the field expeditions.

Scott Wolter — forensic geologist and host of the History Channel’s America Unearthed. Two sessions on the Hooked X symbol and Knights Templar codes, and the case for pre-Columbian exploration of North America.

Bertram Tsavadawa — Hopi and Hualapai cultural educator from Old Oraibi. Presenting on Hopi cosmology, prophecy, archaeoastronomy and the Star People traditions preserved in regional rock art.

Dustin Eskelsen — MUFON Utah state director, presenting MUFON Cases of Interest Vol. 2: The Encounter Files, drawn from investigations in southern Utah.

Daryl Marston — investigator from A&E’s Ghost Hunters, co-leading the Thursday night investigation.

Ron James — director of Accidental Truth: UFO Revelations, appearing in person to introduce the 2026 sequel Accidental Truth Next: Beyond UFO Disclosure and sit on the Friday disclosure panel.

Also appearing: Josh and Ron Feldman of Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch, treasure hunter Terry Carter, Space Wolf Research founder Ryan Burns, author Janet Wolter, cryptozoology researcher Robert Kryder, Ancient American publisher Wayne May, Bigfoot researcher Tom Bennett, Three Lakes Ranch former owner Lon Child, and UAP researcher Levi Harris.

VENUE AND GETTING THERE

The main programme runs at the Historic RedStone Theater, 29 W Center Street, a restored single-screen cinema in downtown Kanab. Evening sessions are at Rising Moon Ranch in Mount Carmel, a private 23-acre property just outside Zion’s east entrance. Ticket holders receive the exact addresses and logistics by email roughly two weeks out.

Flying in: St. George Regional (SGU) is about 90 minutes away with direct flights from Denver, Phoenix, Salt Lake City and Dallas. Harry Reid International in Las Vegas (LAS) is roughly three and a half hours but has far more nonstop options.

Staying: the Fairfield Inn & Suites Kanab is the official partner hotel with an attendee rate, and the Historic Parry Lodge is within walking distance of the theater. Kanab also sits within reach of Zion, Bryce Canyon and the Grand Canyon’s North Rim, which makes it an easy conference to build a longer trip around.
